Do I Have to Wear Just Underwear?
Let’s address this straight off the bat. It’s a firm no here. Clients want to get to know you. To become successful in cam modelling online, it’s all about that connection, getting to know your regulars, showing your personality and what you like! This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wear lingerie or underwear. Many cam girls feel more comfortable in shorts, tank tops and even pyjama sets.
Comfortable is King
In our experience, comfortability equals confidence. As a cam model, your online room is your space. So, whatever you decide to wear goes, just make sure you’re comfortable! If you’re at ease with what you’re wearing and how you feel, this will come across online.
Clients want to see you as you. It’s what makes an experience so authentic. Of course, tweaking the truth and playing a different version of yourself is perfectly fine, but by coming across as sincere and passionate in what you do, your clients are more likely to stick around. This will impact your overall earnings significantly, so being comfortable and confident in what you wear really does pay off.
Allow Yourself to Do Your Best Work
Alongside comfort, the functionality of your attire is a key consideration. In cam modelling, it’s really important that what you wear allows you to do your best work. If you can’t move properly in your outfit, then it’s probably not the right choice. If you’re visibly uncomfortable during live shows, it won’t work in your favour. Remember the goal is to gain a regular following and the way to do that is to offer exciting content, in which you can perform to the best of your ability.
However, if you are taking pictures or filming short clips, erotic attire for impact, rather than practicality will work. Usually, you won’t need to interact and move around as much when it comes to stills and short excerpts. If you’re looking to create striking imagery, garments made purely for aesthetic and fantasy can certainly work here.
Characterisation
When choosing what you wear on cam, consider the character you’re presenting as and the client you’re interacting with. Pick something that reflects your camming persona and fits with the nature of your content. If you’re going for girl next door, casual cottons are perfect. If your preferred style is dominatrix, something a little more striking, for example black leather, could be more appropriate. Pair your attire with your chosen cam persona! As long as you feel comfortable, you know you’ve made the right choice.
