I started as a webcam model with Off The Record just as I finished my studies at university, I was a broke student looking to make money before my next venture in life! It is estimated that 1 in 20 students in the UK now work in the ’Sex Industry’. To either pay their way through their studies or to pay off the tremendous debt they accumulate whilst studying. Increasing numbers of undergraduates and graduates are turning to the Sex industry which can include anything from Escorting to Porn, or Stripping to Web-camming. Web-camming gives you ease of earning money within your own home, the convenience of the industry is amazing! It really is the perfect gig for students! I was introduced to the job through a friend who has been camming for a few months before me.
My Application
A few days after applying on the OTR (Off The Records Models) website I was contacted by the agency. It only took a few days for them to set my profile up, I was active! It was now time for me to log on and take the plunge. Understandably like any new job I was very nervous, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was greeted by calls from the most respectable gentleman. The complete opposite to the stereotypical male that you would think would be on these adult only sites! I was extremely lucky to have had these men call and make me feel comfortable and make the experience so enjoyable! I cannot say that 100% of my clients have been amazing. But you meet people that you don’t get on with in all walks of life! So you have got to expect that haven’t you!
Through the site I have gained not only regulars but best friends, both clients and colleagues! People that I have genuine connections with. It doesn’t matter how you are clothed when you sit in-front of the cam but if you are dressed with a smile and an open heart then you will thrive at this job!
Do your research…
I mean research is a students perogative? I was lucky enough to have a friend that was already with OTR. Therefore, I was already informed about OTR’s work ethic and high standards as an agency. So for me it was a no brainer to set up a profile with OTR! However if you are looking to becoming an online model you might want to have a look at a few different agencies to see what they offer before you apply to them, just to see what is most relevant and important to you.
OTR as an agency provide: 24/7 friendly support and advice. Incentives through the medium of photoshoots (Allowing you to progress your pay and keep you motivated!). Up to date training programmes and videos which are always available to you to use at your dispense and finally OTR provide a team of accountants if you wish to use them for a small fee to keep your payments in order! The list is forever growing at the agency grows!
Make friends for life!
OTR above all the other physical things they provide, the agency offers a sense of community between the cam girls and staff. We have access to group chats where you are able to virtually ‘meet’ your colleagues and get to know them! The support in these chats are amazing. The girls provide support and motivation for when you are feeling a little worse for wear! The friends that you create though the agency are worth working for OTR in itself!
